Wonderous Weekend

This weekend was awesome- the stuff summer memories are made of. Unfortunately, it means we all had a difficult time going back to work and school this morning, but it’s worth it!

Friday night was our very first First Friday of the season. We went downtown, ate some awesome food, listened to the bands, and rode the horse-drawn carriage. The kids had a blast. It’s one of our favorite Golden traditions!

Saturday morning we went and picked up our new couch! Our old one was falling apart and dark gray so it kind of blended in with the walls. Plus, Drew had been complaining for YEARS about it not being comfortable enough. So we found this really pretty (and INCREDIBLY comfortable) one for the most amazing deal ever- we just couldn’t pass it up. So now I think the living/ dining/ kitchen area is DONE! At least for now.

We rode the horse drawn carriage (again) and we loaded up on veggies! Neither kid wanted to leave once it was over. We also finally got some flowers for our pots out front and planted those. Things are looking very summery!

Then yesterday we decided to take a day trip to Leadville. It’s about a two hour drive, but the kids were actually ridiculously good! We started out at Turquoise Lake. The kids had fun running around and playing in the sand (even Evvie!) and I had fun relaxing and enjoying the views with the sun on my face!

Then we went and checked out the historic downtown area. It’s still a bit between seasons so not much was open, but we did find the most INCREDIBLE restaurant for lunch. Not only was it completely adorable, but our food was amazing. I had a spinach, roasted red pepper, artichoke and melted havarti sandwich that I am still dreaming about. And, of course, since we were at over 10, 000 feet our views were pretty incredible!

We got home in plenty of time to do our grocery shopping and relax! And, of course Evvie has been consistent in practicing her walking:

We’re already looking forward to next weekend!
