All of the Things

We have been BUSY lately, in such fun ways! So this will be one big catch up.

Two weeks ago, we went apple picking! We found a GORGEOUS apple orchard a couple of years ago, and we have made it a yearly pilgrimmage to kick off fall. The weather was perfect that day- bright and sunny, but crisp. The kids had a BLAST running around the orchard, picking apples and throwing them into the bag. They also enjoyed checking out the baby horse, the farm dogs, the chickens, and the general store. We left with 10 pounds of apples, a dozen cider donuts, a big container of apple butter, and a bottle of sparkling cider that I’m saving for a special occasion!

Then last week, Betsy came to visit! It was so awesome to be able to hang out and enjoy each other’s company without having to rush around anywhere. The kids loved having her too- even Evvie who managed to get over a bit of her stranger anxiety! We went to the farmers market, made big awesome meals, watched football, and went for a long hike up South Table Mountain! She said she may be able to get out here a few more times depending on how a training schedule works out, so we’re really hoping for that!

A few days later, I went out to a super fun happy hour with two of my good friends at Vita downtown. One of them just found out that she got her dream job, buuuuut it’s in Reno! So while I’m happy for her, I’m very sad. I always thought I’d have more time once the kids got older! This gave me some perspective- you never know how long you’ll have with someone! I’m glad we got to catch up though.

Then this weekend, we decided we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather and the peaking fall colos by going for a mountain drive. We started by going to Grand Lake which was absolutely GORGEOUS. I’m sure the fact that it was nearly 80 degrees helped- much different than the last time we were there! After some fun playing near the water and walking around town, we decided to drive through Rocky Mountain National Park on the way home via Trail Ridge Road! The views were STUNNING- and we even saw a moose!

Tonight I’m leaving work a bit early to hang out with another one of my friends, this weekend a bunch of my old LD&Co friends and I are getting together for brunch (someone else to say goodbye to- so sad!) and then the following weekend is my BROTHER’S WEDDING!!!! So busy, but so good. I’m so thankful for beautiful, quality and meaningful time spent with friends and family.
